Dabbing Accessories, Carb Caps, Quartz Bangers and Replacement Parts

Dabbing accessories can look very similar in product photos, but small specification differences decide whether two pieces actually fit together. When I compare these parts, I start with joint size, male or female connection, angle and material before looking at shape or color. A 14mm quartz banger and an 18mm quartz banger can use almost the same bucket design and still be completely incompatible with the same glass joint.

Start With Joint Size Before Choosing the Design

Common attachment sizes on this page include 10mm, 14mm and 18mm. The millimeter measurement describes the ground-glass connection. A 14mm male banger is designed for a compatible 14mm female joint, while a female banger receives a matching male connection.

One current example is our 14mm Quartz Banger with 90° Flat Top. It uses a 14mm male joint, clear quartz, a 90-degree neck and a thick double-wall bucket. Those specifications tell you much more about compatibility than the outside appearance alone.

45-Degree vs 90-Degree Quartz Bangers

Joint angle is another detail that is easy to miss. A 90-degree banger normally matches a glass joint that sits relatively upright, while a 45-degree banger is generally designed around a joint that leaves the body at an angle. The goal is for the bucket to sit in a sensible position after the parts are connected.

I would choose the angle based on the existing glass rather than assuming 90 degrees is automatically better. This collection currently includes both 90-degree quartz bangers and 45-degree designs, including GRAV models in smaller 10mm connections.

Male vs Female Bangers and Nails

Male and female describe the direction of the glass connection. A male joint inserts into a female joint. A female attachment fits over a compatible male joint. Both the diameter and gender need to match.

Do not order based only on the words quartz banger or nail. Current products in this collection include 14mm and 18mm male quartz buckets as well as 14mm and 18mm female RaptorGlass bangers. Two products can be the same diameter and still use opposite connections.

What Does a Carb Cap Do?

A carb cap is an accessory that sits over a compatible open banger or nail and changes how air moves through the top opening. Different carb-cap shapes use different openings, stems and airflow paths, so the important buying question is whether the cap physically fits the opening you already have.

Our Glass Carb Caps Set of 2 measures approximately 2.5 inches and comes in assorted colors. I would still check the shape and opening of the banger before assuming that every carb cap fits every bucket.

Quartz Bangers, Titanium Nails and Ceramic Nails

Material is another useful way to organize this collection. Quartz bangers provide a clear rigid glass-like structure that can be formed into flat-top buckets, slurpers and blender-style designs. Titanium attachments are metal and offer a very different combination of weight and impact durability. Ceramic nails are rigid and should be handled carefully because ceramic can still chip or crack.

I would not rank one material as automatically best for everyone. Start with compatibility and construction. For example, our 14mm Grade 2 Titanium Collector Tip uses a 14mm connection and measures approximately 80mm, or 3.15 inches, long. That size information matters more when replacing an existing tip than a general claim that one material is better.

Flat-Top, Slurper and Blender Banger Shapes

Modern quartz attachments also use several different body shapes. A conventional flat-top bucket has a simple cylindrical upper chamber. Slurper-style products add lower sections and additional openings. Blender-style bangers use a wider lower chamber with their own airflow geometry.

These names describe construction rather than joint compatibility. A 14mm slurper and a 14mm flat-top bucket may fit the same receiving joint while having completely different upper shapes. Always check joint size, gender and angle separately from the banger style.

Replacement Collector Tips Need the Correct Size

Collector tips are another area where product photos can be misleading. Current options on this page include 10mm ceramic tips, 14mm titanium tips and different collector kits. A replacement tip should match the connection on the collector body you already own.

If the original tip is removable, compare its joint diameter and overall dimensions before ordering. Do not force a 14mm attachment into a smaller 10mm connection simply because the two parts look close in size.

How to Care for Quartz, Glass and Ceramic Accessories

Let rigid glass, quartz or ceramic parts return toward room temperature before aggressive cleaning or large temperature changes. Quartz has useful thermal properties, but it is still a brittle material and can crack from impact or severe thermal stress.

How I Compare Dabbing Accessories

My checklist is fairly simple now. First I identify whether I need a banger, cap, nail, replacement tip or another attachment. Then I check joint size, male or female connection, angle, material and physical dimensions. Only after those details match do I choose between a plain flat-top design and something more complicated.

That approach prevents most compatibility mistakes and also makes this collection easier to shop. A simple attachment that fits correctly is more useful than an elaborate one that cannot connect to the glass you already own.
