The Most Important Point About Hammer Pipes and Bubblers
A hammer pipe is a shape. A bubbler is a water-filtered pipe design. Those two descriptions can overlap.

Which One Is More Portable?
A simple dry hammer usually wins if minimum maintenance and easy transport are the priorities. There is no water to empty and the construction is generally straightforward.
A small bubbler can still be portable, especially models designed around a short chamber. The difference is that a bubbler has a water chamber and often more internal glasswork, so I would treat it more carefully when carrying it.
Size matters more than the category name. A 3-inch mini bubbler can obviously take up less room than a large decorative hammer pipe, so always check the actual product measurements.
